Your account and photos

We store your email, a password hash, sign-in sessions, uploaded photos, generated results, collections and generation records to run the service. Records include model choices, errors, estimated generation costs and any preferred result you select.

Photos and account records currently remain stored so you can return to them; apart from unsaved free tries (below), the beta has no automatic expiry or self-service account deletion. Contact us to request deletion. Backup copies and providers may have separate retention periods. Avoid uploading sensitive personal information or confidential material you cannot share with the generation providers.

Free try without an account

At /start you can create one photo before signing up. We store the uploaded photo, the generated result and a generation record, and send the photo and instructions to xAI to create the result. Your browser keeps a random claim code and browser identifier in local storage so you can come back to the result and save it to an account.

To limit abuse, the Turnstile check runs before upload, and we keep a keyed one-way hash of your network (IP) address and of the browser identifier. We do not store the raw IP address. Free tries are limited per network per day, per browser and in total each day.

If you create an account or sign in from that browser, the photo and result move into your account and are kept like your other photos; the network and browser hashes are removed seven days after the try. If you don't, the uploaded photo, result and record are deleted automatically about seven days after the try. Provider and backup retention may differ.

Services that process data

Railway hosts the app and database; Backblaze stores images; Cloudflare provides domain services and the Turnstile abuse check; Resend sends verification email. These services process the data needed for their tasks and may process technical information such as network addresses.

Generation sends the source photo, selected reference and generation instructions to the selected provider. Current model choices use Google, OpenAI, BytePlus, Black Forest Labs and xAI. Processing may happen outside Australia; we do not promise Australian data residency. Providers' own terms and retention rules also apply.

Payments

Very Nice Photos is operated by ARCHON LABS PTY LTD (ABN 38 660 261 290). Stripe's hosted checkout processes payment details, billing address and email. We store credit balances and ledger entries, plus payment references, status and amounts, but not full card details.

A pack of 2,000 credits costs A$20 and includes GST where applicable. For payment support, email [email protected] from your account address.

Learning what works

We use account and generation records to report signups, successful and failed outputs, preferred results and repeat generation. We also record landing, free-try and signup steps with a random identifier kept for the browser tab and, when present, a short promotion source label. The identifier is sent with a free try and with signup so those steps can be linked to the resulting try and signup records. Funnel records older than 30 days are removed when the service next processes analytics requests.

If a landing URL contains one valid Google Ads click identifier (gclid, gbraid or wbraid), we keep the first one for the browser tab. We link it to signup and the account's first successful output, then share the identifier, conversion type and time with Google to measure advertising. We retain the click identifier for up to 30 days and remove it sooner after confirmed processing. We do not share email addresses or hashed email addresses with Google for this measurement, and we do not use a Google browser tag or advertising cookies.

Funnel reporting respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Either setting prevents click-identifier capture and funnel reporting and clears a click identifier stored in the browser tab. Turning one on later does not recall data already sent to Google; contact us at the address above for deletion requests concerning data we still hold. Funnel reporting does not record email addresses, passwords or other typed values, full URLs, user-agent strings or IP addresses. We do not use advertising pixels, session recordings or browser fingerprinting. Operator test accounts are excluded from customer reports. Access to the underlying records is restricted to operating and supporting the service.

We do not publish your photos or quote your feedback in promotion without separate permission. Creating an account does not subscribe you to a marketing newsletter.

Using the beta

Upload only material you have permission to use and share with the generation providers. Generated images can change product details, text and packaging; check them before using them in listings or advertising.

New accounts receive 1,000 lifetime free credits with no card required. The app shows each request's credit cost before generation, and failed generations are refunded. Paid credit packs are available through web checkout. Global daily limits can temporarily stop generation or signup.
